about
Sisters, wherever you are - we are there together.
💛💙
I dedicate this piece to Ukrainian women, Kurdish women, Belarusian women, Palestinian women, brave sisters and persons of every nationality and ethnicity.
Rojava was created out of and for the celebration of sisterhood. I planned this premiere for March, because it is Women's Month. However, I did not expect this turn of events. I didn't expect WAR to be so close. And it started with a poem...
"To the Kurdish Sisters" is a poem by Monika Rak that moved me deeply in the memorable women strikes in Poland in the fall of 2020. After several weeks on the street, I caught my breath and wrote a text based on Monica's words. In the fall of 2021 I composed the piece and performed it live with four she-instrumentalists and four female vocalists in the choruses during "Babskie Granie 2021" - a charity concert for women violence survivors. Then I asked MIN t (Martyna Kubicz), whose moving song "Voice", dedicated to fighting women in Poland, to produce the music. The photo with my image was taken by Agata Kubis at the Roundabout de'Gaull in Warsaw on October 26, 2020.
I scream for freedom, for equal opportunities, for equal rights and respect for all Beings. I scream that we will live to see a world arranged in a feminist way, without reproducing the hierarchic and capitalistic systems.
I shout with the Kurdish women: JIN JIYAN AZADI (Woman Freedom Life)
lyrics
Piach, którego nie znam, słońce świeci obco
Chusta na włosach i dziewczyna o czarnych
Oczach, oczach, oczach
Jesteś mi bliska, za mną też ruiny
Moje mają błyskawice - Twoje karabiny
Siostry, siostry, siostry
Siostry znam Was,
wznosimy pięść wysoko
Gdziekolwiek nasza rewolucja
jesteśmy tam razem
Siostry znam Was,
wznosimy pięść wysoko
Gdziekolwiek nasza rewolucja
jesteśmy tam razem
Jin Jiyan Azadi, Jin Jiyan Azadi,
Jin Jiyan Azadi, Kobieta, Wolność, Życie
Pięć tysięcy lat gwałt napędzał świat
Babki matki czarownice wciąż wychodzą na ulice
Razem, razem, razem
Zmieciemy w pył dziaderstwa mit
w piersiach żar, na kordony niebieskich
Krzyczę, krzyczę, krzyczę
Siostry znam Was,
wznosimy pięść wysoko
Gdziekolwiek nasza rewolucja
jesteśmy tam razem
Siostry znam Was,
wznosimy pięść wysoko
Gdziekolwiek nasza rewolucja
jesteśmy tam razem
Jin Jiyan Azadi, Jin Jiyan Azadi,
Jin Jiyan Azadi,
krzyczę, krzyczę, krzyczę
Jin Jiyan Azadi, Jin Jiyan Azadi,
Jin Jiyan Azadi,
pragnę Rożawy z mojej Warszawy...
